Uttar Pradesh NRI Department - Reconnecting with NRIs
Over the years, the Indian diaspora has transformed itself into an influential global community and have established themselves as one of the successful diaspora in the world. The Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi has dreamt of a “Self-Reliant India” to overcome the economic crisis unleashed by the Covid-19 pandemic. He is pursuing the goal of making the country a $5 trillion economy. Uttar Pradesh (U.P.) is committed to making a significant contribution towards this goal. U.P. has become the best business and investment destination in India and ranks second in terms of economy, playing the role of the growth engine for the country. Various business reform initiatives, policy support and sectoral interventions have led to all round development of the State. Uttar Pradesh aims to be the growth engine of India by building on its industrial activities. Under the dynamic leadership of the Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh has paved a path towards 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' through progressive initiatives focusing on Economic Growth and Development. The Government of Uttar Pradesh has proactively drafted several investor friendly policies across different segments targeted at rapid industrial development and employment generation in the state.
Realising the need for forging a symbiotic relationship between Uttar Pradesh and its diaspora, the State Government has set up a full-fledged NRI Department which has been playing a very vital role in strengthening linkages between U.P. diaspora and several other diaspora communities, international trade and investment forums, chambers of commerce spread across the globe and motivating them to bring in investments to the State and extend all possible assistance in the challenging times. The State is committed to nurture its special relationship with the NRIs / PIOs of Uttar Pradesh in all spheres for free flow of ideas and thoughts for a holistic development and growth of Uttar Pradesh.
Understanding the importance of U.P. NRIs, the Government of U.P. have accorded high priority to matters that are reported or referred by the NRIs. The Government of Uttar Pradesh has embarked an initiative to create a Forum for building effective and meaningful relations and to strengthen the engagement of the overseas Indian community from Uttar Pradesh with the Government of U.P. and reconnect them with their roots.
